Dr. Merrill Irving Jr. Leads Task Force on Law Enforcement Education Reform, Driving Innovation and Meeting Industry Demand

Dr. Merrill Irving Jr., President of Hennepin Technical College, demonstrated leadership by co-chairing the Minnesota State Taskforce on Law Enforcement Education Reform. This task force was established to provide guidance to the Minnesota State Chancellor and Board of Trustees on matters related to anti-racism and inequities in law enforcement and criminal justice education, as well as policing within communities statewide. Dr. Irving’s role in co-chairing this task force underscores his commitment to addressing systemic issues and promoting equity within law enforcement and criminal justice education. Through collaborative efforts with stakeholders, the task force aims to identify initiatives and priorities that contribute to positive reforms in these crucial areas.
